Overview

The “Mean Time Between Failure” report calculates the elapsed time between failure of the equipment.

It is calculated as the average time between failures.

Failures are considered to be those out of design conditions which place the equipment out of service and into a state for repair.

Failures which occur that can be left or maintained in an un-repaired condition, and do not place the equipment out of service, are not considered failures under this definition.

Equipment undergoing routine regular maintenance is also not considered.

The MTBF Report details equipment history including key milestones and periods of its service history based on whether the work is performed due to a failure of the equipment.
