Field Portal App connects to Sage 300 with one common account set in the Configuration tool. This user connects to Sage 300 on behalf of the Field Portal App logged in user and distributes data to the Field Portal App user.
Field Portal App requires one dedicated Sage 300 LanPak to connect to Field Portal App. This LanPak will be shared with other Field Portal App users using the same Sage 300 account at the same time.
Field Portal App can usually use the Admin account as the common account, alternatively a new dedicated user can be created.
If not using ADMIN account then this dedicated user must be a member of security groups with Full Access to the following modules: AP, AR, AS, BK, GL, IC and VM.
We have done preliminary testing with using a Time Card Sage 300 user for the common connection to Sage 300, which may save on LanPak usage, but we cannot guarantee functionality.
