Recurring Appointments in Field Portal display on the Schedule and Job Details page with an (R) before the scheduled time.

When modifying an recurring appointment, the changes are only applied to the single appointment and not all appointments in the series.  

This results in the appointment being noted as an "Edited Record" in the recurrence status and any subsequent changes to appointments in the series will need to be applied separately to this edited record if required.
